Career and College Planning
We Help Students Prepare for Their Future
The planning process for a post-high school career, whether that includes college or not, is especially critical for a student who has struggled in the past. We help Insight Schools of California students plan for a future they can attain and feel good about, which helps motivate them in their current studies.
Guidance from Career and College Planning Counselors
Insight students benefit from one-to-one support from our experienced academic counselors. As part of the Individualized Learning Plan, our counselors help track students' career and college goals—including targeting colleges, scholarships, and career aspirations—and they help guide students to important post-secondary planning resources.
A Focus on Career Planning
Whether they aspire to attend a four-year college or are focused on a more immediate work path after high school, Insight offers students tools to help them evaluate their strengths and interests and explore possible career directions. Students will:
- Learn about post-secondary financial-aid options
- Learn how to write a resume and prepare for a job interview
- Set short and long-term education goals to match career interests
- Learn how to be successful on the job
Insight Schools of California are an ASAM Model School (Alternative Schools Accountability Model). Insight Schools of California provide an opportunity for students who are behind in their education or need additional support to graduate from high school. Our program specifically serves any secondary student grade 9 through 12. Upon graduation, students will not meet the entrance requirement to attend a four-year university. Students will first need to attend a two-year or community college in order to meet entrance requirements
